FREYA SERIES- THE REUNION

Image
EPISODE THREE F ive years ago I was so broke that I couldn’t afford to buy garri (it was that bad) all I had was my good attitude, coordinated life and a family but nothing to show not even a wealthy BoBo. I looked round me and realized that some of my friends were married, engaged and others flying out for their masters with a correct guy by their side. One of those days I met Rachael my classmate from way back. We spoke at learnt and she told me of how she met her husband.  RACHAEL'S STORY "In this life Freya, you have to fight for what’s yours and that’s what I did explained Rachael. My husband Emeka was already taken when he saw me at the mall with Nkiru and the rest but he did not hesitate to come over to ask for my number. If I saw him two years ago I would probably have insulted him and made a scene (because he was married) but I didn’t, rather I saw an opportunity there. I quickly handed him my card and we spoke at length that night." ...

FREYA SERIES- A MEMORABLE SLAP

EPISODE TWO Last Sunday I watched “The voice Nigeria” most importantly Timi dakolo's performance. One thing you must know about me is that I am very emotional so i take everything to heart. It got me thinking about a lot even my mind went to places that were  unimaginable but trust me I got it covered. Few minutes after 2am I heard a loud bang on the door with so much excitement I raced to open the door forgetting to check on the hole for who it may be.  Na God save me oh my people if not na Linda Ikeji for carry my story say “ Girl was killed to death by her guy's angry wife” i know say you no read that last caption well but this one na only Linda fit explai...

FREYA- "MUMCEE'S NEW DATE"

JULY SERIES EPISODE ONE Hail my Jesus Hebube Hebube Dike (singing with mumcee) you see what my brothers have done by murdering the wonderful song. I don’t know who they (am not calling names oh) borrowed H from to add to Ebube but all the same am not bothered as long as mumcee is not on the case of marriage. Popcee passed on years before bobby was born so he never got to know what an amazing father he had, sometimes I feel it’s the lack of a father figure that makes him misbehave and stray but think of it oh “me fa” am I any different?  “see pot calling kettle black”. I and bobby have been trying to get mumcee on a date but all to no avail. She’ll always say “make una leave me with your palava. shey na my stretch marks una carry the use as direction?. In other words her time for dating had long elapsed but you see me…. i am always a fighter to the very end. REAL MEN SHOW RESPECT TO WOMEN

Image
" A Real Man Respects His Girlfriend/ Wife The Same Way He Wants Another Man to Respect His Daughter" RickQuotes.com 4) REAL MEN SHOW RESPECT TO WOMEN When I started this series what I had in mind was not to make men feel they had to give so much and expect little but the truth is most men feel that most women is out just for two things "Money" or "Sex"( which is true for some women) and would do anything for that thereby leaving out the 60% of women who desire to be respected and who love their man for who they are and not what they have. My head pastor said something wonderful yesterday which got my attention " Respect is required from both man and woman" it is a commandment " wives submit and husbands love ( the same way you respect yourself then reciprocate that love and respect" Real men do not raise a hand on any woman no matter what may have happened. Real men understand that as they show this respect to the ...

A REAL MAN SHOWS RESPECT TO GOD

Image
One word for this Real men Series "Educating" I know I am the one writing all of the areas but the truth is my dad does a lot by giving his words of wisdom on certain areas (He is my first love oh). Yesterday was an eye opener and today we would like to go a little deeper as we check out "A Real Man's Respect for God" 3) A Real Man Shows Respect To God:                This should be the first on the list because a man that has the fear of God and respects everything that God has placed in his hand is a real man. I was at a wedding recently and the pastor said something striking which I feel every man should adopt, a real man understands that the lady he has is given to him by God and should be handled with care. God expects that real men of our time would extend that same level of respect to our spouse, girlfriends, mothers, children etc.            What I love most about my boyfriend is that he has so...

REAL MEN SHOW RESPECT TO THE JANITORS/CLEANERS

Image
Hello Fam Yesterday we dogged real deep to uncover areas real men ought to show respect and we looked at Respect for family which is one of the most important criteria to access. Today we are going to look at an aspect that most people shy from which is the fact that Real men show respect to people beneath their social class. 2) A Real Man Shows Respect to the Janitor or Cleaners Working for Them or for The Government. Why I decided to use this Job specification is because most people feel that those who are found working in that area are people who are beneath their social class and probably are termed a social misfit. The truth is real men should not have various classes of people to whom they show respect rather real men show respect to people who put all their effort in doing something that the society does not give respect to. I met a young man last year and the striking thing about him was his ability to associate with his lower staffs even though he had a position th...

REAL MEN REAL TALK

Image
REAL MEN REAL TALK SERIES It is finally here so get your phone's ready as you'll be dropping comments as to your opinion on certain topics starting from today. I decided to start the real men series with "Respect". In the course of my research on questions real men would ask and qualities real men must possess I settled on the first and most important which is "Respect". I realized a man who holds the hand of his lady at the cinema or opens the door for her after a date, is very romantic and has a way with words should not be a concrete definition of a real man. Real men have rare qualities which we would discover and uncover as we rub minds together. Six Areas you Need to Access if a Man has the First Quality of "Respect" 1) He has respect for his "Family" especially his mother: let's start with a scripture we were made to memorize while growing up "Honour your father and mother" now let's stop the...

Being Fat and Fit -The New Beautiful

Image
Trending today on Rosea Writes is the "Being Fat and Fit The New Beautiful" One thing I love is to be plain and truthful in my writings. This came up yesterday when I was going through my messages on facebook and I got series of "lose 12 pounds in 2 days and blah blah blah" I am one person that has learnt to appreciate my body. There are pills, tea, herbal remedy, lotions, surgery all these so that you can lose weight?. Am not health inclined but I know that too much of everything could have side effects later especially mixing slimming teas and drugs because you think you'll get a faster result. The trick about these drugs is that it may work at first but it requires a continual usage otherwise you fall right back to where you started. Health tips * Eat healthy (no Junks) * Eat in small quantities * Drink a glass of water before every meal * Exercise and do stretches daily * Cut down on Alcohol consumption * Do not eat heavy food late at night ...

TEAM MAKEUP/TEAM NATURAL

Image
#Question4Theday- Why do black women feel unattractive without make up?. I'll chip in a little bit on this- so there has been new developments and cosmetics  has evolved over the years. Before now it was just eye pencil used for the brows and lining the mouth and eye. Now we have Face beat, contour. But let's think oh which one is "face beat again" lol. The bone of contention stands at cosmetics taking the confidence level of most women. Now some ladies find it difficult to go out without makeup. Its alarming. Imagine you've been invited to present an award and the theme for the event is "No Makeup" would you attend? And what would your confidence level be from the scale of 1-10 Please comment below

TANGLED (EPISODE 2)

Marriage counselling sessions were an eye opener for daniel and i. We got to express ourselves and tell each other things we had bottled up for so long. Talking about the affair was the hardest because it opened up wounds that just couldn't heal in  months. Our marriage counsellor suggested we took a break from all the drama. So I suggested we travelled to Johannesburg for our second honeymoon just so we could get our mind off some things and start over. Sunday after church while preparing lunch I heard a knock on the door, so I went to check who our sunday guest would be. It was my maid starring right at me with those eyes of "am taking everything from you". I waited for her to speak but all she muttered was " where is Daniel the father of my unborn" but really who says that. Lost of words I stammered just so I could say something but nothing came out. I shouted out daniel's name as she pushed me aside to hug him. I was slowly loosing my grip in my o...

Tangled (Episode 1)

Image
I got in 2am like I always did every night just so I could get his attention but this night it was different. For 1year  and a month we constantly fought over whose turn it was to wash the dishes, lay the bed sheets or take the dog on a walk. My marriage has constantly been on the edge of breaking but we've fought to keep us together even though our love had long been shattered. Few months into the marriage I got a maid, a young naive lady whom I thought had no idea about getting attracted to a man yet alone my own husband. As I always did I tip toed into the room just so I could catch him in a compromising situation but each time I didn't. But I pushed him so far as to the result of tonight. My husband was tangled with my maid on our matrimonial bed. I froze for a second not until she spoke but not with the accent but fluent English. I had been played. My worse fear had come to play. We hadn't been together as a couple for over 6 months only because I constantly...

Image
Salem University is full of fashionistas. We can't help but wonder what influences their sense of style and where they get their trendy clothes. Meet Paul Okwara, a graduate of SU, an Economist, a Christian, an indigene of IMO state who currently resides in Abuja. I was able to chat with him about his fabulous fashion sense. Rosea: What does fashion mean to u? Paul: Fashion means a whole lot to me, I see fashion as a stepping stone also fashion is my ability to combine colourful pieces and make them look good. In all fashion to me is being dapper😜 R: Do you intend going into the fashion industry full time or its just a side project? P: It is a side project but I would give it full attention. INITIAL GRA GRA

Image
So that's how mary decided to gist with the master and listen to his messages while I struggled in the kitchen cooking pounded yam and white soup with correct goat meat. Although it's not her first time of shying away from household activities just because she's going for fellowship, cell or sunday service. In fact her level of Christianity is her way of telling me that am not serious at all. Can you imagine this young girl of yesterday whom I taught how to comb and keep her self neat. "Master you shouldn't let her seat at your feet when she has not fulfilled her lady duties" "Martha you worry yourself too much I never asked you to cook all that but mary knows what she wants and is willing to sacrifice every other activity just to get it" replied the master My story is very familiar to everyone and the lesson here is clear. Its not about the initial gra gra and the pleni activities we get involved in which shield the main purpose from us....

YES I FOUND HIM AND NO AM NOT ASHAMED

I promise not to waste your time but I want to let u in on something. Few years back I was struggling with a lot, constantly I wanted so bad that God will turn me back to him but I failed to understand that the returning was a decision I needed to make for myself. I cried, searched and longed to know God better. There wasn't any prayer conference, fellowship or convention I attended that I would not cry out to God. This is where am driving at it took me years to find God for myself but this came with determination. Discovering God for you may seem like eternity but eventually you'll find him and when you do I promise you'll never want to let go. Through the years have learnt different ways to make myself relevant in the kingdom. Someone asked " Rosemond why don't you write about fashion or gossip?" but my simple response was "God did not save me to join the world but to draw the world towards him through my writing" I may not have followers lik...
