Rosea Writes recently had the pleasure of interviewing the Inspirational Artist Jessey Godson AKA "Adara Master" he shared a lot about himself and his musical ministry and we are excited to bring that interview to you!

Rosea Writes: Jessey, thank you for taking time out for us to interview you! You are truly an amazing inspirational artist and your talent and grace is truly Amazing, Rosea Writes is happy to celebrate you.

Jessey Godson: Firstly I would love to say a big thank you to God and to you Rosea Writes for this great opportunity to be interviewed by you! its an honour! God bless you richly.

RW: Tell us about yourself

JG: I am the first son, born into the family of Mr & mrs Obed Onibiyo. I am the first of three boys. I finished from Abiola Montesori Nursery/Primary School in Lagos state, I went further to complete my secondary education at the Federal Government College Ugwolawo, Kogi State. I recently graduated from Salem University and bagged a B.Sc in International Relations and Diplomacy. I am simply complex and easy going. Crowning it up I love music and a passion to motivate people.

RW: When did you realize that Music was the next big thing for you?

JG: Music started as a hobby at the age of 5. It became more than that in 2011 after I was wrongfully expelled from Covenant University, music became a solace and my place of sanity.

RW: what inspires you as an inspirational artist?

JG: God is the major source of my inspiration and I also get inspired by the stories of other people and the situation in my environment. Lastly, I get inspired by my Fiancée Charlsie Asuquo, my Family and friends too.

RW: How would you describe your sound?

JG:  Hmmm...... I would say that my sound is unique but I have a blend of people who have inspired my sound. The likes of Detrick Haddon, John Legend, Mali Music, Praiz, Timi Dakolo, Tubaba, Luther Vandross, Ekeng Bassey, Joshua Kings, Nosa, Darrell Walls, Wilson Joel, Darey and finally my dad.

RW: What are the recent and upcoming projects?

JG: My most recent project is the famous "Adara" which is the most trending in Salem University, Kogi State and in most parts of Nigeria. I am currently working on an Album which will be out by next year. Another project is the shooting of Adara Video. The release of two songs "Onitemi" and "Little Light" which was first performed in Salem University and so much more.

RW: Who would you like to work with in the future?

JG: I would love to do a song with Timi Dakolo and praiz with a list of others.

RW: Are you going Circular or strictly Gospel

JG: sometime back I was asked a question and for the first time in my life I was short of words....... I like to think of my music as breaking religious borders. in future I would most likely move into the inspirational aspect of music but definitely not circular.

RW: Tell us about your song "Onitemi" which is soon to be released

JG: Onitemi is inspired by Charlsie Asuquo my fiancée. I just think about how blessed I am to have her. She believes in my vision and content which is what any upcoming artist needs. Onitemi is a special song dedicated to her and the content is an expression of love from a true heart.

RW: Who are your top five Favourite Gospel Artists?

JG: Counting up from 5 would be Nosa followed by Tye Tribett in number Four, Darrell Walls, Mali Music in Second place and Detrick Haddon taking the place of my top favourite artist.

RW: What are the challenges you have faced as an upcoming artist?

JG: I have faced quite a lot coming up as an artist but one that stands out is the acceptance of my kind of music especially by church members as they feel that if a song does not have "God" in it then it's not a Gospel song. Another would be the fact that artist who strive to be genuine in their performance are not given an audience they simply stick to those doing Afro Pop or other aspects of music. Lastly it would be having the right platform and financial constraint etc.

RW: How do you balance your music with other Obligations?

JG: well I make sure to have a good team which ensure division of labour, defining your goals and objectives and I realize that there is much more to life than just music.

RW: Are you born again and please share with us your encounter

JG: Yes I am by the grace of God, I got born again in the year 2010, Feb 28. I didn't encounter a deep voice but that day I had a rethink on the life I was living and surrendered everything to him. It is a wonderful experience because I have never regretted the decision I made that day and I pray that everyone would come to terms of accepting the greatest and most rewarding decision.

RW: Finally what advice would you give to beginners who are nervous of going into music but have talent?

JG: •Define your Music
• Pursue music like the air that you breathe and let it become a path of you.
• Develop yourself for stage performance.
• Do not be intimidated by anybody
• Lastly never give up and always stay close to God.

RW: Awesome! It has been a pleasure interviewing you  Jessey Godson and we wish you all the best in your current and future endeavours.

JG: Thank you for having me!!
